Summary

The research study examined whether college students supportive of social nudity differ from students opposing social nudity on self-acceptance and acceptance of diverse others. The study's hypotheses were partially supported as results showed that pro-nudity students significantly differed from anti-nudity students on comfort with their bodies' appearances and were more accepting of religious groups and gays and lesbians. Further analysis indicated that pro-nudity students' openness to sexuality accounted for the two groups' differing views toward religiously dissimilar others and gays and lesbians.
