Summary
American nudism began as a small organized movement led by Kurt Barthel, but later, the control of the movement was taken over by the Reverend Ilsley Boone. Boone's domination over the movement was eventually broken and led to the establishment of other nudist organizations and a more relaxed atmosphere in American nudist conventions.
