Summary
In Austria and Germany, there are popular resorts called thermen where nudity is required in the sauna section, and swimsuits are not allowed. Visitors partake in sauna rituals, such as aufguss, and can relax in heated pools, receive body treatments, as well as enjoy meals and beverages. Although initially uncomfortable, some Americans have found the experience of being nude in the sauna to be fleeting and rewarding, boosting self-confidence and life satisfaction.
