Summary
In the late 1920s, Gaston Durville and his brother purchased land on Ile du Levant to establish a village promoting health and communal nudity. After World War II, the village became popular, leading to the commercialization of the island, with hotels and other facilities. Unlike Ile du Levant, communal nudity in Corsica is officially approved only at commercial naturist resorts, and it is generally not supported by native Corsicans.
