Summary
Two young Venetian artists, Giorgione and Titian, worked together in the studio of Giovanni Bellini at the end of the 15th century. Although only a few paintings can be attributed to Giorgione, the collaboration between the two artists remains the subject of debate among art historians, particularly in relation to the attribution of specific paintings and their controversial elements such as nudity. The influence and controversy surrounding their works continues to be felt, with later artists like Edouard Manet and Sylvia Sleigh further pushing the boundaries of art and societal norms with their own interpretations of reclining nudes.
