Summary
Eating a low-fat diet has been the standard recommendation for years but new data shows that it is not effective and can even be harmful, leading to an increase in heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. Studies over the past five years have shown that high-fat diets are beneficial for health and weight loss, with good fats making up 50-60 percent of the diet. The ketogenic diet, which focuses on burning fat for fuel, has also shown significant improvements in weight management and disease prevention.
