Summary
Some hot-weather insects raise interesting questions, such as whether all small flies attack bare skin and why earthworms come out of the ground. Non-biting midges are beneficial for fly fishing and aeration of soil, while biting midges can cause trouble for human skin. Fireflies, known as lightning bugs, produce efficient light and have various colors and cultural significance in different regions.
